PUF Feature
- Lightweight

PUF is a porous structure
consisting of open cells and
has many air gaps, therefore
is a light plastic material with a density of minimum
15kg/m3.
- Cushioning
- Flexible-PUF has excellent
cushioning properties, thus it
is used in a wide range of
fields such as bedding,
furniture, automobile seats,
and industrial parts.
- Stress relaxation
- A type of PUF called low-
elasticity foam, is used for
mattresses, pillows, wheel-
chairs, cushions, etc. because it has excellent energy
absorption and good pressure
dispersion.
- Shock absorption
- PUF can disperse impact
energy by deforming against
strong shock, thus it is used
as shock absorbing materials
so on.
- Breathability
- The open-celled PUF which
has breathability, is available widely from low to high air
permeation, according to the
purpose of use.
- Flame-retardant
- A type of PUF which is hard to spread fire meets the flame
retardance regulation about
interior materials for auto-
mobiles, railway vehicles, and interior materials for aircraft.
- Sealability
- The low air-permeable PUF
can be used as air seal
materials, and the highly
water-repellent PUF can be
used as water seals.
- Sound absorption
- Since PUF is a porous struc-
ture, the energy of the sound that has penetrated into PUF
is attenuated and PUF exhibits
excellent sound absorbing
capability.
- Processability
- PUF has capability for various processing such as slicing, cut-ting and punching.
